You Mustn’t Miss Out these SEO Tips by Google

Though blogging is counted as a soft skill. And anyone can do it. You don’t even need some fancy degrees. However, if you want to enjoy the privileges of a top-notch blogger, you need to have some understanding of SEO tips for bloggers.

Here I’m going to discuss a bit about the basic SEO tips you need to become a good blogger. And yes there are tons of blogs, videos, and courses on this. But I’ll be talking only about what Google has to say.

Key SEO Tips for Bloggers by Google

Keywords have always been the key focus of SEO. They’re not only important for blogging. But for everyone online.

Imagine you’re looking for the best forex trading apps. You go to Google (or any other search engine) and type your query ‘best forex trading apps’ and you get a huge list of all such apps, websites, blogs, and more on the same subject. And all this is because those results include the same query (keyword) or related terms to help you find the best trading apps.

I would say keywords are the magical words use to fulfill your wish by any search engine. So use them wisely.

Google suggests adding your keywords in your blog’s title and body smartly. Use multiple keywords. Long-tail keywords are more popular than short-tail keywords. And don’t get overwhelmed at all.

Earlier, we all used to add keywords in abundance and with poor structure (with less value). And it worked well for us. Now we can’t do this. Or our blogs would be compromised.

This is rather easy to elaborate on. Just like our school or college assignments, Google and other search engines like content with proper headings.

Use ‘H1’ headings for main headings and go small (headings usually go from ‘H1’ tag to ‘H6’ tag) with subheadings.

It’s also advisable to use your keyword(s) in some headings. But don’t overdo this.

That’s all.

Every tactic used in SEO blogging (SEO blogging is the same as blogging, don’t get confused) is almost as simple as writing an essay on a piece of paper. You use images to help a reader create a story at the back of his mind.

Most of the time we use only one image (featured image) telling what the blog is about. But you can also use images within your blog post.

Images alone are not as helpful as if you add some details about them.

To explain further, I would only consider a blog post using WordPress as your CMS. When you add an image (featured or body) you’re given a few fields to add details about the image.

In the ‘description’ field add a bit about the image relating to that particular blog post. In the ‘title’ add something like a header for your reader. And in the ‘alt text’ add something for the web crawlers (they act as scanners and help your blog searchable by search engines). Try to add your keyword(s) in all the fields.

They are also a very important part of any blog. And easy to understand.

Links create a network. Some are outgoing (linking to some other blog or websites). And some are linked to your blog.

Links are created on some keyphrases or even lines and direct the reader and crawlers to a related website to further authenticate your blog.

To make it simpler, assume you’re in a group discussion. You’re telling your fellows some advantages of forex trading on eToro. You tell them a little about their history, the key feature of ‘CopyTrading’, and reviews by industry experts.

You linked your key topic ‘forex trading on eToro’ to an external source with their ‘history’, ‘key feature’, and ‘reviews’ by experts. And your fellows would feel much safer to invest in forex using this trading app.

The same thing works with blogs both for readers and web crawlers.

Other SEO Tips by WordPress

Besides the ones above, CMSs like WordPress offer some additional help to make your blog SEO-friendly both for readers and crawlers.

A Category is used to help readers find your blog with many conveniences.

  • Permalink is the display link of your blog as shown to a reader. Tailor it as required to make it more readable.
  • Tags are like helping words readers use to find your blog. They’re not your keywords but help readers find your blog.
  • Slug is a heading displayed in the search results and includes your keyword. You can tailor it.
  • An excerpt is a short description displayed underneath your slug helping readers know what includes in the blog post.

There are more SEO tips for bloggers but these are so important that everyone must need to know them. Before I leave you guys, let me summarize all the tips here:

  • Keywords:use a set of multiple keywords within your blog and justify their ratio according to the length and requirement of the blog.
  • Headings: they help the reader navigate your blogger with much ease.
  • Images: help readers understand the content better and help them create a story. The use of relevant fields when adding an image can help in optimizing your blog.
  • Links: authenticate your blogs and link the readers to more relevant content.

One thing to make it certain when blogging; write first for your readers and then for web crawlers. If you make your readers happy, crawlers will love your blog too.
